Hello Precious Souls!
I hope that this note finds you appreciating your life and creating a positive environment for you and the world around you.
If you notice, I have not sent out a newsletter in a month and oh what a month it has been! Some of you may know, but I realize that many of you are not aware what happened to my body in the last month. I am just putting all the pieces together myself because I lost about 2 weeks of consciousness! I'm in the process of to writing it all down so you know the details and all the amazing lessons I learned so they can help you. (Below I have written a lesson that I have learned) Until then, here is, as they say, the readers digest version:
Last month I began to feel sick...I mean SICK. At first I was told it was just a flu and to "go home and drink fluids" I did and got sicker.... I went to the emergency room.... They filled me with fluids and told me the same thing "Go home, keep the fever down and drink fluids"...I got sicker. The next day I went back to the emergency room where they admitted me. This is the point that I lost a lot of memory.
Well as it turns out, unbeknownst to me, about 3-4 months ago I picked up a very intense staph infection in a foreign country. This infection was slowly attacking my liver for 3 months until I got very sick.This infection caused my body to react in many scary ways like intense pneumonia , staph infections,liver and kidney shutdown and various other manifestations.
I was put into the ICU, intubated and put into a coma for over a week while they tried to fight all these infections and breakdowns of my body. This is when my chances to make it through alive became very slim. This is also when I had an amazing and life affirming near death experience, which I will tell you about soon. Thanks to amazing doctors , my incredible sister Jeannine who is a nurse and never left my side and all the love and prayers from family and friends like you, I have pulled through. Yayyyyy!
In fact, since I have been out of the hospital, I've met 4 new doctors. Every one of them has said to me after looking at my chart, that they couldn't believe I was even alive. They all said I was a miracle. I also found out that when I was really sick in the ICU, I had less than 20% chance to live... Talk about appreciating life baby!!!
There is much more to the story but that's the basics....
I am getting stronger by the day and healing. I am taking it slow and at the same time giving myself small goals to reach. It feels good to be ALIVE!
